The Guitar Guy returns

Just arrived home with the Guitar Guy after an exciting week in Virginia. He learned a lot, loved his time there and is really glad to be home. Tonight he has to meet with his band to plan the set list for two gigs tomorrow. So much for spending time together! I'm not planning to go to either gig. Too hot and way to many people in town for the holiday.

Got to spend some time with Nicole and her friend Briana last night and today. Having just returned from India, Briana is off to Ghana in 3 weeks. She'll be spending a year working in communities there and supervising the volunteers working on projects with the citizenry. As we headed back home she was off to get innoculations for Yellow Fever, Meningitis and Rabies. That didn't sound too promising. Nicole is hoping to go visit with Briana is there. I am thinking about it but not sure I want all those shots (I'd need a bunch more). A nice cruise is probably more my speed.

Have an excellent July 4th weekend for those in the US.

Hooray for the return of the guitar hero! Isn't it great when something makes them SO happy? I wouldn't face the heat and the crowds either. give him an extra bandana, wish him well, and have something icy in the fridge for him when he gets home.

Welcome back, Guitar Guy! I'll bet you're glad to have him home with you again, if only for a little while. I'm spending today sitting around enjoying the weather, and so I see nothing wrong with you sitting around enjoying your climate-controlled area. It's wonderful you got to spend some time with the ladies, but I'm with you on the cruise. I am a thoroughly spoiled first-world country sort of girl.

Wow, Ghana. I have great admiration for young people who go out and offer themselves to others in service like that.

I'm glad you got to spend some time with the girls. They grow up and away so quickly.....

Hooray for guitar guy having a good time! And it really sounds like you and Nicole did too! I think Nicole would probably jump in and volunteer herself! She takes after her mother, after all:)
