Socks galore

Just thought I'd show you a couple of the socks I'm working on. Of course my roulette sock for Amy and Julie's grand scheme must be kept under wraps for now :-)

This is the Bugga KAL for Sanguine Gryphon using the Embossed leaves pattern. The top one is more the color but the second photo shows the color variation and the leaves just starting to peek through. The cashmere in this yarn makes it so soft to work with.

This is the first of a pair (hopefully) of gift socks I'm knitting for a friend in the cold country. She wears a lot of tans so I thought this Rainforest snake pattern from Opel would coordinate nicely. I'm using the garter rib pattern from Sensational Knitted socks as I wanted something quick and simple.

These are the same garter rib socks in Lorna's Laces Team colors (Phoenix Suns) for my daughter-in-law. It is a sport weight so should keep her feet nice and warm while she's watching the games from snowy Iowa.

I started these Monkey socks for myself while I was in Iowa but put them on hold until a couple of other projects get off the needles. The photo doesn't do the rich purple and green justice.
No, this isn't sock yarn. This is the Dream in Color Classy Happy Forest for my DIL's February Lady sweater. I cast on once and had to rip back when I totally screwed up the first button hole. Several tutorials later, I think I've got it figured out. It is supposed to be a fairly quick knit so my goal is to have it to her by mid-Marchish. I figure by then she will be sick of her pregnancy clothes and might like something new and springlike but warm enough for those gusty March winds.
Now, back to the work and then more knitting.

The rain forest yarn looks like a snake! Those are great! I get nervous when I have too many things on the needles. I don't know how to pick which to work on and I'm afraid of having one feel left out.....

Wow--lovely socks--and I see we have a similar taste in colors... (i.e., EVERY color!!!) I'm all excited to see what you're doing for sock roulette--my 'practice sock' is coming out nicely, and then I'll write up the pattern and knit the 'real first sock!'

The monkey socks are lovely, awesome colors! I didn't sign up for the sock swap, I'm never sure about what to knit for other people.

Your socks rock! What a giver you are! And what splendid colors. Rainforest snake made me laugh.

You are a sock knitting wild woman. Wow. My lifetime output of socks is, um. Five. Counting the one for this KAL. So... wow.

Lovely green yarn, too. Yum.

Look at all the pretty socks! They're all so pretty and smooshy and warm looking. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the daughter-in-law's sweater soon. I'll bet she loves it.
